Ruturaj Gaikwad appointed captain, Maharashtra squad announced for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Maharashtra's squad for the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has been announced. Young batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad has been given the captaincy. Gaikwad scored a powerful century against South Africa A, amassing a total of 210 runs. Sixteen players have been included in Maharashtra's squad for the upcoming tournament.

Prithvi Shaw has been performing well for Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy, scoring two half-centuries in his last two matches. His good performance has now been rewarded with a chance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Arsin Kulkarni and Rahul Tripathi are among the other players included in the squad.

Two Wicketkeepers Selected: Two wicketkeepers have been selected for Maharashtra's squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. These include Nikhil Naik and Mandar Bhandari. The Maharashtra cricket team will play its first match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Jammu and Kashmir on November 26 at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The team will play its final match against Goa on December 8. Maharashtra will play a total of seven matches in the group stage.
