Rohit Sharma can be traded into Gujarat Titans in return of Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya might be picked by the Mumbai Indians before the IPL 2024 auction. There are rumors that the Mumbai Indians are trying to get Hardik Pandya on their team. Hardik Pandya is currently the captain of the Gujarat Titans.

Mumbai Indians are trying to acquire Hardik Pandya in one of two ways. They may trade their current captain, Rohit Sharma, for Hardik Pandya, resulting in a swap of captains.

Alternatively, they may bring in Pandya to replace English pacer Jofra Archer or Rohit Sharma. Pandya could wait a season before Mumbai Indians elevate him to the captaincy in the following season.

Pandya, who was an integral part of MI's success in the last decade, was released by the franchise in 2021. He then joined Gujarat Titans (GT), one of the two new teams that were added to the IPL in 2022. Under Pandya's captaincy, GT won the championship in their debut season and reached the finals in 2023.

MI, on the other hand, has struggled in recent seasons. The franchise is looking to rebuild its team and believes that Pandya could be the missing piece. Reportedly, MI has held discussions with GT and Pandya about a potential trade.

If the deal goes through, it would be a major coup for MI. Pandya is a world-class all-rounder who can bat, bowl, and field at a high level. He is also a natural leader, as evidenced by his success with GT.

However, the deal may not be as straightforward as it seems. GT has built an excellent team under Pandya's leadership and they may be reluctant to let him go. Additionally, GT has reportedly requested for a swap of Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer in return for Pandya.

While the possibility of Rohit leaving MI is almost negligible, Archer might end up in Gujarat if the deal goes ahead. This would be a significant loss for MI as Archer is one of the best bowlers in the IPL.

Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to trade Pandya will be up to GT. If they decide to let him go, it will be a major blow to their team. However, it could also be a massive opportunity for MI to get back to their winning ways.
