The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), originally the Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan, is the organization in charge of overseeing and planning all of the national cricket team of Pakistan's trips and games. It has represented the nation's men's and women's national teams in international cricket competitions run by the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1952.
Professional and amateur cricket began in Pakistan in 1947 when the nation was proclaimed an independent dominion of the British Empire. This was possible since the country's infrastructure had previously been constructed during the British Raj. Up to 1948, cricket matches were organized informally; however, a Board of Control was formally established at that time. Pakistan became a full member of the Imperial Cricket Conference (now called the International Cricket Council) in July 1952 and has played Test cricket ever since. The inaugural Test series for the squad was played in India from October to December of 1952.
Originally known as the Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan (BCCP), the Pakistan Cricket Board was established on May 1, 1949. HE Iftikhar Hussain Khan Mamdot, the Nawab of Mamdot, was appointed president and chairman of the inaugural meeting, which took place in the committee rooms of the Lahore Gymkhana. Justice A. R. Cornelius was one of the three vice presidents. Cornelius assumed the role of chairman of the working committee the next year and served in that capacity until early 1953 when he resigned from the board.

Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, an experienced administrator, was overwhelmingly chosen by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to serve as its Chairman for a three-year period. At the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, at a special meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG), an election was held. Naqvi, a media magnate from Pakistan, is now the 37th chairman of the PCB on a full-time basis. He is serving as the State of Punjab's acting chief minister at the moment. Their last full-time chairman, Ramiz Raja, was a former captain of Pakistan. He was fired in December 2022, one year into his position, for "political interference".
