Jehanabad has a reason to celebrate as its very own Rohan has been selected to represent Bihar in the National Soft Tennis Federation Cup. The prestigious tournament will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, from January 9 to January 11, showcasing the nation’s top talent in soft tennis.
Rohan’s selection has sparked an atmosphere of pride and joy in the district. Well-wishers, including locals and officials, have showered him with congratulations. The district administration extended its best wishes, expressing confidence in Rohan’s potential to perform exceptionally at the national level.
Suraj Kumar, the coach and president of the Jehanabad Soft Tennis Association, shared the news with enthusiasm. He remarked, “Soft tennis is gaining popularity in Jehanabad and other districts of Bihar. It’s exciting to see players like Rohan emerging on the national stage. Soft tennis is a part of the Asian Games, and this growing recognition in Bihar is a significant achievement.”
Rohan’s selection isn’t an isolated success; it reflects the district’s growing prominence in various sports. Jehanabad has consistently produced athletes who excel in regional and national competitions. Recently, players from Jehanabad performed remarkably in the state-level cadet weightlifting competition held in Nawada, Bihar.
Out of 250 participants from 24 districts, Jehanabad’s Khelo India Small Center Weightlifting team won accolades in multiple categories, including Under-11 and Under-13 Boys and Girls. These achievements are a testament to the district's dedication to nurturing young talent.
The district administration has been actively investing in sports infrastructure to foster talent. A new sports building has been established, offering facilities for various disciplines. Additionally, the renovation of the old badminton court near Gandhi Maidan is underway, providing athletes with upgraded amenities.
As Rohan prepares to compete in the National Soft Tennis Federation Cup, his journey inspires not only the people of Jehanabad but also budding athletes across Bihar. His participation in the tournament highlights the district’s potential and its growing stature in the Indian sports landscape.
