India A squad announced for Australia tour: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian A team for the Australia tour. Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has also been included in this 15-member team, who has returned to the Indian team after a long time. India will go on this tour under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad. A five-match Test series is to be played between the senior teams of India and Australia from November 22 and before that the A teams of both the teams will play two matches.
The BCCI said in a statement, the men's selection committee has selected a 15-member team for the upcoming Australia tour. India A will play two first-class matches against Australia in McCoy and Melbourne and then play an intra-squad match against the senior team of India in Perth.
Ishan Kishan was dropped from the central contract by the BCCI for not giving priority to domestic cricket, but now he has been successful in making a comeback in the team. Ishan was part of the Indian team for the South Africa tour after the ODI World Cup last year, but he took a break in the middle of the series. However, the BCCI was not happy with his decision. Before IPL 2024, Ishan also participated in the domestic tournament, due to which the BCCI dropped him from the central contract. Ishan could not return to the Indian team since then. The then head coach Rahul Dravid had said that whenever Ishan returns to the Indian team, he will have to play in the domestic tournament for this.
Ishan, who led Jharkhand in the current season of Ranji Trophy, recently showed his strength in domestic cricket. Ishan participated in the Duleep Trophy and was also part of the Rest of India team against Mumbai in the Irani Cup.
