West Indies Test squad announced for India tour: The West Indies have announced their squad for the upcoming two-Test series against India, which begins on October 2nd at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This series is the team's second in the ICC World Test Championship cycle, following a tough home series defeat against Australia earlier this year.
A notable highlight of the team announcement is the inclusion of left-arm spinner Khary Pierre in the Test squad for the first time. The 33-year-old bowler has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and recently topped the wicket-takers' list in the West Indies Championship, taking 41 wickets at an impressive average of 13.56.

Roston Chase will captain a team composed of both new talent and experienced players. Meanwhile, Tegnarayan Chanderpaul and Alick Athanase have returned. Chanderpaul, who has scored 560 runs in 10 Tests, last played for the West Indies during the tour of Australia in January 2024.
Athanase, on the other hand, was last part of the West Indies team that drew the two-Test series in Pakistan earlier this year.
