One of the major teams of the Indian Premier League is Chennai Super Kings, who have won the trophy four times since 2008, when IPL started. Chennai Super Kings bought Nishant Sidhu for a whopping INR 60 lakhs, followed by Ajinkya Rahane who was offered a deal for INR 50 lakhs. Other players who were bought include Ajay Mandal (INR 20 lakh), Bhagath Varma (INR 20 lakh), Sheikh Rasheed (INR 20 lakh), and Ben Stokes (INR 16.25 crore).

MS Dhoni will be the captain for the team, and older players who have been retained include Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Moeen Ali, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Subhranshu Senapati, Dwaine Pretorius, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mitchell Santner, Matheesha Pathirana, Tushar Deshpande, Simarjeet Singh, Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Chowdhary, Prashant Solanki, and Devon Conway.

With the teams set, people have started to look forward to the tournament. The first match, to be held on 23rd March, 2023 will see Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore face-off in Chennai. Chennai Super Kings, with its history of winning, is a fan favourite for the title. The final match is scheduled on 28th May, and it remains to be seen who emerges the winner this season.
