The Asia Cup 2025 match between India and Pakistan brought not only excitement on the field but also controversy off it. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was called before the ICC panel after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) complained about his post-match comments.

What Happened After India vs Pakistan Group Match?

India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the group stage. After the win, Suryakumar dedicated the victory to the Indian armed forces and showed support for the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

He said that the win was for the bravery of the soldiers and hoped cricket could give them moments of happiness. PCB considered his words to be political and reported the matter to ICC.

ICC’s Decision on Suryakumar

The ICC did not punish Suryakumar but gave him a warning. They told him not to make political comments again during cricket matches.

BCCI’s Complaint Against Pakistani Players

At the same time, the BCCI complained about Pakistan players Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf.

  • Farhan, after scoring his half-century, celebrated with a gun-firing gesture.
  • Rauf made a plane crash gesture with his hands and also showed a ‘6-0’ signal to the crowd.

Both of these were seen as provocative gestures during the Super Four clash.

What’s Next?

The ICC will soon make a decision about Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. If found guilty, they could face punishment under the ICC’s code of conduct.

Conclusion

  • Suryakumar Yadav has escaped punishment but received a formal warning.
  • Pakistani players Farhan and Rauf are waiting for ICC’s decision.
  • The incident shows how India–Pakistan matches often turn sensitive and attract attention beyond just cricket.
