Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, won their last Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2025 against Sri Lanka in a close Super Over finish. The victory kept India’s winning streak alive, but injuries to Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma have worried the team before the big final against Pakistan.

Hardik Pandya’s Hamstring Problem

All-rounder Hardik Pandya bowled just one over in the match. He dismissed Sri Lankan opener Kusal Mendis for zero but soon looked uncomfortable with his left hamstring. After that, he left the field and did not return.

Bowling coach Morne Morkel later gave an update, saying:

“Hardik had cramps and felt some pain in his hamstring. We will check him again tonight and tomorrow morning before taking a final call.”

Abhishek Sharma’s Injury Update

Opener Abhishek Sharma, who has been in good form, also had a problem during the ninth over. He was seen holding his right thigh while running and left the field in the 10th over. He used ice packs to recover.

Thankfully, the injury is not serious. Morkel confirmed, “Abhishek is fine. It was only cramps. He is expected to be fit for the final.”

No Training Before the Final

India’s management has decided not to hold any practice session on Saturday, a day before the final. Morkel explained, “The most important thing is rest. The players have already started recovery, and good sleep will help them be fresh for the big match.”

Big Question for the Final

India will hope both Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma are available for the final against Pakistan. Abhishek looks ready to play, but Hardik’s fitness is still a concern. His batting and bowling make him a key player in high-pressure matches.

The final between India and Pakistan promises to be a thrilling contest, and all eyes will be on the fitness of these two stars.
