Abdul Samad Becomes 1st J&K Batter To Score centuries in both innings of Ranji Trophy: Abdul Samad, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, created history in Ranji Trophy. Abdul, who is playing for Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, scored his second century of the match against Odisha on Monday. With this, he became the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to score two centuries in the same Ranji Trophy match.
In the first innings of the match being played at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Abdul Samad scored 127 runs in 117 balls. In this innings, he hit 9 sixes and 6 fours. Thanks to this innings of Samad, Jammu and Kashmir scored 270 runs in the first innings. However, in response, Odisha scored 272 runs. After the Jammu and Kashmir team missed the lead in the first innings, Samad also batted brilliantly in the second innings.
After the top order batsmen were out early, Samad scored his second century of the match in just 105 balls. During this, he hit 5 fours and 6 sixes. Before this, no batsman from Jammu and Kashmir had scored two centuries in any first-class cricket match. Samad scored an unbeaten 108 off 108 balls and Jammu and Kashmir set Odisha a target of 269 runs.

Talking about Abdul Samad's career, his performance in domestic cricket has been excellent so far. Sunrisers Hyderabad first noticed Samad's aggressive batting ability and included him in their franchise in 2020. In the five seasons between 2020-2024, Abdul Samad played 50 matches for SRH and scored more than 550 runs with the help of 36 sixes.
Abdul Samad has scored 1640 runs in 24 first class matches of domestic cricket at an average of 38. At the same time, he has scored 538 runs in 23 List A matches at an average of 23 and 1339 runs in 83 T20 matches at an average of 26. His strike rate in T20 has been 146.
