The 21-person Indian shooting squad is prepared to compete in the forthcoming Olympics in Paris. Eight competitors compete in rifle, seven in pistol, and six in shotgun events at the Paris Games.
At the Olympics, Manu Bhaker, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Anjum Moudgil, and Elavenil Valarivan will compete for the second time. The remaining eleven shooters, who compete in rifle and pistol, will compete in their first Summer Games.
The 15-person team did not bring home any medals from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan. Not a single shooter, save Saurabh Chaudhary, advanced to the finals.
For the Paris 2024 games, 340 shooters will be housed at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre. In 2018, the facility was absorbed into the French Shooting Federation. In 2022, the facility revealed plans to construct a new "finals" building, which will enable it to hold international pistol and rifle finals. All indoor shooting finals for the Paris 2024 Games will take place in this facility.
