Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on August 15 announced a demographic mission to save the country from the threat of illegal immigrants. He warned citizens against the conspiracy to change the demography of the country. Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, he stressed that this will not be tolerated.
PM Modi said that I want to alert the country about a concern and a challenge. Under a well-planned conspiracy, the country's demography is being changed and the seeds of a new crisis are being sown. These infiltrators are snatching the livelihood of the youth of my country. They are targeting our sisters and daughters. They are misleading the tribals and grabbing their lands. This will not be tolerated.
Demographic Mission
He said that demographic changes in border areas pose a threat to national security. It sows the seeds of conflict. No country can surrender to intruders. Then how can we? Not allowing such activities is our duty towards our ancestors, who gifted us an independent India. Therefore, I announce from the ramparts of the Red Fort that we have decided to launch a high-level demographic mission. This mission will deal with the threat looming over India.
Narendra Modi target Mamata Banerjee
Prime Minister Modi's warning about national security somehow undermines Mamata Banerjee's efforts to advance regional politics. The issue also turned into an unexpected language war between Bengalis and Bangladeshis after the Delhi Police declared a translation to be written in Bangladeshi.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had slammed the BJP over the incident and accused the Modi government of systematically promoting xenophobia and deliberately targeting Bengalis.
