A total of 23 players were selected for the 11th season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) in Melbourne on Thursday.

The draft saw Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapattu and South African fast bowler Shabnim Ismail join Sydney Thunder along with England's Heather Knight.
Sydney Sixers strengthened their squad with the addition of England's Sophia Dunkley and Mady Villiers, as well as New Zealand allrounder Amelia Kerr.
