Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has become India's most valuable celebrity, with his brand value rising to $227.9 million, a significant increase of $51 million from 2022. According to Kroll's Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2023, Virat Kohli has a diverse portfolio of over 40 brands spanning across various industries. He has also been signed by the Indian arm of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) as their brand influencer. Virat Kohli surpassed Ranveer Singh, who is now in second place with a brand value of $203.1 million.
In 2023, India's top 25 celebrities, including Hindi film stars and sportspersons, will collectively have an estimated brand value of $1.9 billion, up 15.5% year-on-year.
Shah Rukh Khan, buoyed by the success of films like Jawaan and Pathan, is ranked third with a brand value of $120.7 million. Akshay Kumar is ranked fourth with $111.7 million, down from third in 2022, while Alia Bhatt's valuation is $101.1 million, moving her from fourth to fifth. Deepika Padukone is ranked sixth with a brand value of $96 million. It is worth mentioning that Katrina Kaif has featured in the list of India's most valuable celebrity brands for the first time in the last five years.
