Maruti Suzuki has launched a new variant of its premium sub-compact SUV Frontex, Delta+ (O) in India. The new variant is offered only with 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. There is an option of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. Till now, Frontex was available in 5 variants – Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Zeta and Alpha.
The car has been provided with 6 airbags and puncture repair kit for safety. Both these features are missing in the regular Delta+ variant, while the spare wheel has been removed. Apart from this, Fronx 21 comes with advanced connectivity features. The company has kept the ex-showroom price of the manual version of the new variant at Rs 8.78 lakh. Both the manual and automatic versions of the car are Rs 15,000 costlier than the regular Delta Plus variant.
The special thing is that earlier, 6 airbags were available in the Front Zeta variant, which is priced at Rs 10.56 lakh (ex-showroom). With the launch of the new Delta Plus (O) variant, buying the model with 6 airbags has now become cheaper by Rs 1.6 lakh. This vehicle competes with Toyota Urban Cruiser Taser, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO in India.

The sporty compact SUV Frontex can be brought home through Maruti Suzuki monthly subscription plans starting at Rs 17,378. Through this monthly subscription plan, customers can take the car on rent without purchasing it. This monthly subscription plan includes vehicle, registration, maintenance, insurance and roadside assistance.
The front end features some design elements like the upright nose and split headlamps that look similar to Maruti Suzuki's flagship Grand Vitara SUV. It also has large front and rear bumpers with faux skid plates and chrome. The 17-inch multi-spoke alloys are unique to the fronts.
The front end incorporates some design elements from the Baleno hatchback. Like a rising waist line and a sloping roofline. As far as dimensions are concerned, the front is 3,995 mm long, 1,550 mm high and 1,765 mm wide, similar to the Baleno.
Apart from this, the car gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted audio controls and a 4-speaker sound system. Also, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, automatic climate control, electronic stability control and rear Features like parking sensor are provided.
For safety, it also has features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Hold Assist, Seatbelt Reminder for all seats, 3-point seatbelt for all seats, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Maruti Suzuki Frontx comes with two engine options. It has 1.2 liter naturally aspirated engine and 1.0 liter booster jet engine. The 1.2 liter 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine generates 90bhp power and 113Nm peak torque. The 1.0 liter 3 cylinder turbo booster jet petrol engine generates 100bhp power and 147.6 Nm peak torque.
