LA Olympics 2028 Schedule: Cricket's much-awaited return to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles after 128 years will take place on July 12 at the Fairgrounds Stadium in Pomena City, about 50 km from Los Angeles, with medal matches to be played on July 20 and 29, 2028.

A total of six teams each in the men's and women's categories and 180 players will participate in the shortest format of cricket, T20, at the Olympics. According to the schedule of the competition, two matches will be played on most days, while there will be no matches on July 14 and 21.
Cricket was included in the Olympics only once before, in the Paris Olympics in 1900. Only two teams, Great Britain and France, participated in it then. Great Britain won the gold medal by winning the only match of the competition.
With a total quota of 90 players allotted to men's and women's categories, the 12 competing teams can announce a 15-member squad.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved the inclusion of cricket, baseball/softball, flag football, lacrosse (sixes) and squash in the 2028 Olympic Games.
Wrestling (24-30 July): Wrestling has contributed the most to India's Olympic medals since the 2008 Olympic Games. The event will be held from 24 to 30 July at the Los Angeles Convention Center Hall 2.
Shooting (15-25 July): Three of India's six medals at the Paris Olympics were in shooting. The competition will begin on the first day and continue till July 25 at the Long Beach Target Shooting Hall.
Athletics (July 15-30): India's biggest name at the Olympics, Neeraj Chopra, will steal the show in the men's javelin throw event and along with cricket, this is India's best chance to win a gold medal. The athletics events will be held at the Coliseum from July 15 to July 24.
Hockey (July 12-29): India have won the most gold medals in this event in Olympic history, eight, and will be keen to add to their tally at the upcoming Los Angeles Olympic Games. At Los Angeles 2028, hockey will be played at Carson Field.
Badminton (July 15-24): The event at the Galen Center will feature some of India's biggest names.
When will the Opening and Closing Ceremony take place?
The opening ceremony will take place on July 14, 2028, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time), held at the LA Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. The closing ceremony will be held at the Coliseum on July 30.
