People of India like to both play and watch cricket. But have you ever wondered how the ball with which you play cricket is made? Let us know what materials are used to make that ball.

How is a cricket ball made?

Machines are used to make cricket balls. Along with this, physical labour is also done to make the ball strong, only then a better ball is prepared for playing. This cricket ball is made of leather or cork. Mostly the bark of oak trees is used to make this ball, it is called cork. It is ground and put in a mould.

After molding the cork, a layer of leather is applied on it to give it a strong shape. After applying the leather, it is given the proper shape. Then a red strip is applied on it, which is sewn by hand. The ball is first pressed completely with the help of machines, so that there is no hollowness left anywhere in it.

After bringing the cricket ball to the right shape with the help of machines, the red strip is cut into several pieces and hammered well without any shrinkage, so that there is no space for air to pass through the ball. Then it is sewn in two to three layers. You can also watch the video to understand the manufacturing of a cricket ball.
