Government True Caller, Fake calls will be controlled
There has always been a concern about the security of truckers. In such a situation, the government is preparing to launch a new app soon to stop fake calls and keep people safe. However, Internet and Mobile Association of India and TRAI have come forward regarding this matter. Let us know about this app in detail.
Government True Caller
The government is constantly engaged in stopping fake calls. Continuing this trend, the government is now preparing to launch an indigenous Truecaller-like app. According to the report, this app will give you information about the real ID of the caller.
The report states that this new app will also show you the number of the caller and his real name, which he filled in the form while taking the connection. This will help in reducing the problem of fake calls. You will also be able to decide whether you want to take this call or not. Called Calling Name Presentation (CNAP).
Government has been working on CNAP for 2 years
- Let us tell you that on November 29, 2023, the government had issued a suggestion or consultation paper to the telecom networks regarding Calling Name Presentation (CNAP).
- In this, TRAI asked the stockholders to give comments on this subject. Subsequently, an open house discussion on this consultation paper was organized on March 1, 2023.
True Caller paid attention to these inputs
- After self-analysis and inputs received from stockholders, TRAI finalized its idea to introduce calling name presentation in telecom networks. A few things were emphasized in this.
- Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) should be introduced as a service in the Indian telecom network.
- Telecom providers may offer Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) services to their customers upon request.
- It was also told that the details that the customers will give to the telecom companies while taking the number will be used for CNAP.
- Calling Line Identification (CLI) should be updated by the Licensor from time to time as the assigned telephone number and calling name identification, in accordance with ITU Recommendation E.164/IP Address.
- For this, a technology model will be prepared, which will help in making the functionality of CNAP work in the Indian telecom network.
- After its permission, now emphasis has been laid on providing CNAP facility in all devices sold in India.
