A shocking incident occurred on Saturday in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. Five members of a family committed suicide in the Ampapur police station area. The deceased included a husband, wife, a son, and two daughters. The house where the incident occurred is said to be that of Shyamveer Singh, alias Fauji. The body of the soldier was found hanging from a noose. Police have taken possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination and have begun an investigation.

According to reports, the incident occurred in a house on Eta Road in Ampapur, where Shyamveer Singh, alias Fauji, lived with his family. There had been no activity in the house for three days. Neither his three children had come out, nor had Fauji and his wife, Sheela, been seen going in or out. Neighbors became suspicious and immediately informed the police.

Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and broke into the shop, breaking its lock. This was because the shop was located outside the house. When the police saw the scene inside, they were horrified. Four bodies lay on the bed, while Shyamveer Singh himself was hanging from a noose.

Who are among the dead?

Police said the deceased included Shyamveer Singh (50), his wife Sheela (48), daughters Prachi (12) and Akanksha (10), and son Greesh (8). Initial investigations revealed that Shyamveer worked as a welder and had been struggling with financial difficulties for some time.

The suicide of five members of the same family has caused a stir in the area. Upon receiving the information, senior officials, including Kasganj District Magistrate Pranay Singh, Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, and BJP MLA Hari Om Verma, arrived at the scene.

A similar horrific incident occurred eight years ago in Delhi's Burari area. The bodies of 11 members of a single family were found hanging from a noose in a house in Sant Nagar. An investigation revealed that the family members took this extreme step due to their witchcraft and superstition. While some also considered financial hardship a factor, notes and diaries found at the home suggested a desire for salvation.
