The popular battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been officially shut down by the company. Recently, Activision shared this information on X (formerly known as Twitter). This game was launched specifically in India to compete with PUBG Mobile and BGMI, but its journey ended within a year of launch. Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is no longer available on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. This means that new users will no longer be able to download it.
What is the reason for closing Call of Duty Warzone?
According to Activision, Warzone Mobile's performance did not meet the company's expectations. While the Call of Duty series has achieved tremendous success on PC and consoles, the mobile version did not make the same impact. Also, the company is already running Call of Duty Mobile, which is being played by millions of people. In such a situation, maintaining two separate mobile games was proving to be expensive and wasteful.
If you have already installed Warzone Mobile, you can continue playing it. But keep in mind, now there will be no new update, season or content in it. Also, in-game purchases have also been stopped. That is, if you had invested money in the game, then it can no longer be used. Activision has also made it clear that it will not refund this money.
What will happen to your money?
Activision says that if you log into Call of Duty Mobile with your Activision account before August 15, you will get double the value of whatever balance you had in Warzone Mobile. The good thing is that there is not much difference in the storyline and gameplay of both the games, which will make the transition easy for users.
