,strong>Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) officials have begun demolishing the huge establishment N-Convention Centre owned by noted actor Nagarjuna. Built on a 10-acre plot, the N-Convention Centre was under the scanner for several years. It has been demolished following allegations of illegal construction in the Full Tank Level (FTL) area and buffer zone of the Thammidikunta lake in the city's Madhapur area. As per official records provided by the Executive Engineer of the North Tank Division, the FTL area of the Thammidikunta lake is about 29.24 acres. It is alleged that N-Convention has encroached upon about 1.12 acres of the FTL area and an additional 2 acres within the buffer.

For several years, the management of N-Convention has been accused of using its influence to circumvent regulatory actions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other higher authorities, thereby escaping the ill-effects of their encroachment.

The demolition drive began on Saturday morning, with Hydra officials arriving at the spot, accompanied by a contingent of police personnel to ensure that the process proceeds without any hindrance.
