The Commonwealth Games Executive Board on Wednesday proposed Ahmedabad as the host for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. The final decision will be taken at the General Assembly meeting on November 26. According to news agency PTI, India faced stiff competition from Nigeria for the hosting this time, but the Commonwealth Games has decided to develop a strategy to enhance and support Nigeria's future hosting prospects, including potentially hosting the 2034 Games.

A press release issued by Commonwealth Sports stated that the Commonwealth Executive Board today confirmed that it will recommend Ahmedabad, India, as the proposed host city for the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games. Ahmedabad, Gujarat, will now be submitted for full Commonwealth Games membership, and a final decision will be made on November 26. It is worth noting that India previously hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2010 in New Delhi.
