She announced this in an emotional video shared on social media. The caption accompanying the video read: "Her journey ends here." She stated clearly that she no longer wished to put her body at further risk. Marín announced that her professional badminton career has now come to an end and, consequently, she will not participate in the European Championships. It was her wish to step onto the court one last time, but she could not jeopardize her physical health to do so.
