Asian Women's Kabaddi 2025: India Wins 5th Championship

The Indian team has won the title of Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship 2025. In the final held on March 8, India won 32-25 against the host team Iran. With this, Team India has won this title for the fifth time. After a gap of 8 years, the sixth edition of this tournament was organized in Tehran, the capital of Iran, from 6 to 8 March. Earlier it was played in the year 2017. Then India again became the champion of this tournament by defeating South Korea in the final. That is, along with winning the current trophy, the Indian team has won 5 out of 6 titles held so far. At the same time, the South Korean team won this title in 2016.

India dominated the entire tournament

A total of 7 teams participated in the Women's Asian Kabaddi Championship 2025. Group A included teams from India, Thailand, Bangladesh and Malaysia. Group B included teams from Iran, Iraq and Nepal. India dominated the entire tournament.

During the group stage, the Indian team won all its 3 matches. Apart from this, it scored more points (213) than all the teams and conceded the least points (63). Team India entered the semi-finals by defeating Bangladesh 64-23, Thailand 76-21 and Malaysia by a huge margin of 73-19.

Apart from India, Bangladesh team from Group A managed to make it to the semi-finals by winning 2 out of 3 matches. On the other hand, Iran and Nepal teams from Group B made it to the semi-finals. After this, India faced Nepal in the semi-finals. Here too, the Indian team won one-sidedly by 56-18. Host Iran also defeated Bangladesh in a one-sided match by 41-18. Then the two best teams of this tournament faced each other in the final.

Exciting match in the final

India and Iran clashed in the final match of this 3-day tournament on March 8. A fierce competition was witnessed between the two teams. Iran gave a tough fight and made the match exciting. However, in the end the Indian team prevailed and won the match by a small margin of 7 points. By defeating Iran 32-25, India's women's Kabaddi team has once again become the champion of Asia.
