Netherlands tour of Bangladesh 2025

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has officially announced that their Asian country will host the three-match T20I series from August 30 to September 3, 2025. The match will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh. This will be the first bilateral T20I series between the two countries in Bangladesh.

Although the Netherlands have limited experience of bilateral series in these conditions, the opportunity is seen as a great experience for their players ahead of future ICC events and will definitely improve their cricket. For Bangladesh, the series is a great platform to test their team's performance and assess the form of the players before they leave for the UAE for the Asia Cup starting on September 9.

So far, Bangladesh has been one-sided in their performance in T20Is and have won 4 out of the 5 matches played between the two teams. The Netherlands have managed just one win, which was a thrilling last-ball victory in 2012. Defeating Bangladesh will be a challenge for the Dutch team as they will be up against one of the best teams in the world.

The last bilateral series between the two countries took place in 2012, when the Netherlands hosted Bangladesh for two T20 Internationals. Their most recent match took place in Kingstown during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where Bangladesh won by 25 runs. Earlier, in the 2022 World Cup also held in Hobart, the Asian team won by 9 runs in another close encounter. Both T20 World Cup matches between the two teams in 2016 and 2022 have been in favor of Bangladesh.
