Indian Super League 2025-26

The 2025–26 Indian Super League (ISL) represents a landmark "sprint" edition of India's premier football competition, marked by significant structural changes and a condensed timeline.

Originally delayed by five months due to administrative and contractual complexities between the AIFF and its commercial partners, the season finally commenced on 14 February 2026 and is scheduled to conclude on 17 May 2026.

This 12th edition features a record 14 teams, including newly promoted side Inter Kashi and a rebranded Sporting Club Delhi (formerly Hyderabad FC), competing in a total of 91 matches.

In a major departure from previous seasons, the league has discarded its signature post-season playoffs and final. Instead, the competition follows a single-leg round-robin format where each team plays exactly 13 matches, and the club finishing at the top of the table after these 13 rounds is crowned the champion and awarded the ISL trophy.

This season also sees the historic full integration of the promotion-relegation system; while the I-League (rebranded as the Indian Football League) champion moves up, the club finishing 14th in the ISL table will be relegated to the second tier for the following season.
