A hugely promising talent, left-handed opening batsman Nicolas Maddinson was a part of the New South Wales side that captured the Australia U19 Championships in 2009, before topping the batting averages in the home series against Sri Lanka U19s with 72. He was then included in the Australian side that competed in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2010. Nic is also a handy left-arm orthodox spinner.
