A right-hand batsman and a leg spinner, Collins Obuya shot to prominence in the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup, as his team shocked the cricketing fraternity by entering the semi-finals.
“Collo” as he is nicknamed, impressed with 13 wickets at 28.76 in the WC, which subsequently earned him a one-year stint with Warwickshire. Obuya was unlucky to have missed out on a place in the team for the 2004 Champions Trophy. He then joined his teammates for the players' strike and proceeded to play club cricket for South Africa.
