Born and brought up in Newcastle, New South Wales, Burt Cockley is a right-arm fast bowler who has represented NSW as well as Western Australia. He made his first-class debut, playing for New South Wales against Tasmania in the year 2007-08. In 2009, he was picked up by the Mohali franchise in the Indian T20 league before being named in Australia's injury-stricken squad for India in the same year.
