Profile:

At the age of 18, Alice Capsey is one of the most promising talents in world cricket at this moment. She started playing the sport at the age of just six and it seems she hasn’t looked back ever since. Now, she joins the Capitals Universe as we wait to see her skills at the Women’s Premier League.

She made her debut for Surrey at the age of just 15. Soon she became a regular for the side, performing with both bat and ball. She has also represented South East Stars, with whom she has won the domestic 50-overs and 20-overs competition.

However, the highlight of her career so far has to be the double triumph of Oval Invincibles in the 2021 and 2022’s editions of The Hundred. She was an integral part of the side. Her exploits saw her even make an entry to the England national team in 2022’s summer.

She became the youngest ever half-centurion for England and was also part of their squad in the Commonwealth Games. Despite having a black eye, she continued playing through the tournament and performed for her side. She also landed a Women’s Big Bash League deal with Melbourne Stars. She was quite a stand-out player for them, showing her all-round skills.

At the 2023 T20 World Cup, she smashed a 21-ball fifty against Ireland, which is the fastest ever by a female English player. Her attacking strokeplay is a delight to watch and DC fans might see some of her fireworks during the WPL.
