The Women's Premier League 2026 auction (WPL 2026 Auction Date) is expected to take place in New Delhi. According to Cricbuzz, all teams have been notified. It is reported that the auction could take place on November 26th or 27th. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet confirmed the auction date.
According to a report published in Cricbuzz, all five teams – Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriors – have been informed of the auction date. Despite the WPL Mega Auction, the auction may be held on a single day. All teams have been notified that they must submit their retention lists by November 5th.
Each team will be able to retain five players before the auction. The first player retained will be priced at ₹3.5 crore, while the fifth and final player will be retained at ₹50 lakh. Each team can use five Right to Match (RTM) cards, but the number of RTM cards will depend on the players retained. The more players a team retains, the fewer RTM cards will be available.
Each team will have the freedom to retain three capped players. A team can retain only two foreign players. The retention price for an uncapped player will be ₹50 lakh, and a franchise can retain two uncapped players. However, the price paid for an uncapped player may vary from ₹50 lakh.
Each team will have a purse of Rs 15 crore in the auction, out of which Rs 9.25 crore will be spent on the 5 retained players.
