The BCCI has announced an updated squad for the remaining two matches of the ongoing T20 series against New Zealand. Tilak Varma has also been ruled out of the remaining two matches, although the board stated in an official release that he has resumed physical training. Shreyas Iyer will remain part of the squad in his place.

The BCCI said in its statement, Tilak Varma has resumed physical training. He is making steady progress in his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. However, he will require more time to regain full match fitness. He will not be available for the last two matches of the five-match T20 series against New Zealand.

When will Tilak Varma return?

The BCCI's statement has made it clear that Tilak Varma is recovering quickly and will join the team before the T20 World Cup, meaning he will not be ruled out of the tournament. The BCCI stated, Tilak will join the team in Mumbai on February 3rd after being declared fully match-fit. India's warm-up match is scheduled for February 4th at the Brabourne Stadium.

The BCCI also confirmed that, as previously announced, Shreyas Iyer will remain with the squad as a replacement player for the remaining two T20 matches. However, Iyer did not get a chance to play in the first three T20 matches. The Indian team has already secured an unassailable lead in the series by winning the first three matches.
