India has been awarded the right to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will be held in Ahmedabad. The official announcement of the hosting rights will be made at 6 p.m. The Commonwealth Sports Executive Board is currently meeting in Glasgow, Scotland. Nigeria was also in the running for hosting rights alongside India. India also aspires to host the 2036 Olympic Games, and being awarded the Commonwealth Games is a significant step in that direction.

24th edition of Commonwealth Games to be held in Ahmedabad

The 2030 Commonwealth Games are officially known as the XXIV Commonwealth Games. This will be the 24th edition of the tournament, featuring athletes from 74 countries around the world. Hosting the 2036 Olympics

India is among the contenders to host the 2036 Olympics. The country also wants to host this major event. If this happens, it will be the first time India has hosted the Olympic Games. Hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games is a major milestone towards that dream.

Ahmedabad has hosted several sporting events in recent times, including the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers and the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.
