Indian star batsman Smriti Mandhana has again become the number one batsman in ODIs. She again topped the ICC's latest women's ODI rankings. She achieved this feat after scoring a half-century in the first ODI against Australia. In the first match of the three-match series played in Mullanpur, Mandhana scored 58 runs in 63 balls, but her efforts went in vain as Australia easily chased the target and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Big boost before World Cup

The number one ranking will boost Mandhana's confidence ahead of the Women's Cricket World Cup starting on September 30. The half-century earned her seven rating points and she moved four points ahead of England's Nat Sciver-Brunt, who is now in second place. Mandhana now has 735 rating points, while Sciver-Brunt has 731. Mandhana first achieved the number one ranking in 2019 and now this is her second time in 2025 when she has reached the top spot.

Performance of other Indian players

India opener Pratika Raval, who scored 64 in the first ODI against Australia, moved up four places to 42nd position. Top-order batsman Harleen Deol has moved to 43rd position after her brilliant innings of 54 runs.

Australian players' rankings rise

Australia's Beth Mooney climbed three places to fifth position. Annabel Sutherland (up four places) and Phoebe Litchfield (up 13 places) have jointly reached 25th position among women batsmen. Both of them also scored half-centuries in this match.

Bowlers' ranking

Australia's pacer Kim Garth and spinner Elena King climbed one place each to fourth and fifth positions respectively, which is their career best ranking. India's spinner Sneh Rana, who took a wicket in the first ODI, climbed five places to 13th position. At the same time, England's Sophie Ecclestone remains the number one bowler.
