SL vs NZ 2024 Test: Sri Lanka announced the Squad for the New Zealand Tour
SL vs NZ Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the Squad for the two-match Test series against New Zealand. The first Test match of the series is to be held from 18 September. This series will be played at the Galle International Stadium. Oshada Fernando has returned after a long time under the captaincy of Dhananjay de Silva. At the same time, experienced players like Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal have been retained.

In fact, Nishan Madhushanka did not get a place in the Sri Lankan Test team for the two-match Test series to be played against New Zealand (SL vs NZ 2024 Test Series), while Sadeera Samarawickrama and Oshada Fernando have returned.
Fernando made his Test debut in 2019 and has not played any international cricket since 2023. The right-handed batsman has scored 122 and 80 against South Africa A. With the help of his innings in this match, Sri Lanka A team won.
Samaravikrama was not part of the Sri Lankan team that recently toured England, but he was included in the team for the Test series against New Zealand. He is expected to strengthen the middle order of the team if he is included in the playing-11.
Ramesh Mendis has also got a place in the team, who has taken 63 wickets in 14 test matches. During this, his best bowling figure was 6/70.
