Shefali Verma scored a double century in Test cricket

Shefali Verma double century: However, after scoring a double century, Shefali could not stay for long. She lost her wicket due to a misunderstanding with Jemima Rodrigues while taking a run. Rodrigues played Tucker's ball and it went to mid-on. Shefali was a little hesitant to take the run and meanwhile the bowler also came in her way. But Shefali thought of completing the run. Meanwhile, Malba threw the ball to keeper Jaffta who dropped the stumps before Shefali could reach the crease. Shefali faced 197 balls and scored 205 runs with the help of 23 fours and eight sixes.

In this match, Shefali was supported by her opening partner Smriti Mandhana. Mandhana played an innings of 149 runs on 161 balls. In this innings, she hit 27 fours and a six. Both of them made a record partnership of 292 runs for the first wicket. Shefali and Mandhana have broken Pakistan's 20-year-old record of making the biggest partnership for the first wicket in Test cricket. In 2004, Pakistan's Kiran Baloch and Sajida Shah added 241 runs for the first wicket against West Indies. Shefali and Mandhana crossed this score.
