Bengaluru Stampede: It has been over two months since RCB's joy of winning their maiden IPL title turned to sorrow due to the tragic stampede at a celebration event organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association that claimed the lives of a total of 11 fans and injured hundreds more.

RCB will give Rs 25 lakh to the families of Chinnaswamy stampede victims: To mitigate the loss to the families of the deceased, RCB has launched what the team calls 'a long-term commitment to meaningful action starting with honouring their memory'. Under the initiative, family members of those who have died will receive Rs 25 lakh each to compensate for the loss of precious human lives.

“We have lost eleven members of the RCB family. They were part of us. Part of our city, our community and what makes our team unique. Their absence will always be felt in all of our memories.

No amount of support can ever fill the void they have left. But as a first step, and with deep respect, RCB has pledged Rs 25 lakh each to their families. Not just as a monetary help, but as a promise of compassion, unity and continued care,” RCB wrote on their official Instagram handle on Saturday, August 30.

RCB won the IPL title for the first time by defeating Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final. There was a festive atmosphere in the city after RCB won the first IPL title after waiting for 18 seasons, but it soon turned into grief. On June 4, about two lakh fans gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which the police could not control. This led to chaos, which led to the death of more than 10 fans, while many fans were injured.

RCB broke silence on social media

Earlier, RCB finally returned to social media and broke its silence on the Bangalore incident. The team issued an official message clarifying that their silence should not be construed as absence. RCB said in its statement that their silence was actually a symbol of silent support to the victims and their families. The franchise clarified that in such difficult times, their aim was to maintain seriousness and sensitivity instead of posting light-hearted posts on social media.
