Naseem Shah Ruled Out of Remainder of Tournament Due to Rib Injury: Extremely disappointing news is emerging from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. Rawalpindi's star fast bowler, Naseem Shah, has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to a rib injury.

Naseem Shah sustained this injury during the match played between Rawalpindi and the Karachi Kings. In that match, Naseem did not appear to be in full rhythm and bowled only 2.2 overs. Although he managed to claim a crucial wicket while conceding 26 runs during this short spell, he was forced to leave the field due to pain.
Rawalpindi's medical team immediately took him in for an examination, following which it was confirmed that the injury is severe and he is currently in no condition to participate in any format of cricket.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Rawalpindi issued an official media release confirming this news. The team stated that their medical staff is continuously monitoring Naseem's recovery.
According to the media release:
"The team's medical staff is closely monitoring Naseem's recovery. Our goal is for him to make a comeback by the end of the tournament; however, this will depend entirely on the progress of his rehabilitation and his fitness clearance."
The franchise also clarified that the team stands firmly behind its key bowler during this difficult time and will provide him with full support, both mentally and physically.

Although Naseem Shah's withdrawal has been confirmed, the Rawalpindis have not yet announced the name of a replacement player to take his spot. Filling the void left by a bowler of Naseem's caliber would be a challenging task for any team.
