Sachin Tanwar emerged as the most expensive player on the first day of the player auction for the Pro Kabaddi League 2024 in Mumbai on Thursday. Tamil Thalaivas signed the star Indian kabaddi player for Rs 2.15 crore for the upcoming 11th season of PKL. Iran's Mohammadreza Shadlooi Chayaneh also managed to get a big deal of Rs 2.07 crore from Haryana Steelers. Pawan Sehrawat, the most expensive player in the history of the tournament, was successfully retained by Telugu Titans for Rs 1.72 crore.

Gujarat Giants also signed Guman Singh for Rs 1.97 crore, but they will have to spend heavily on the second day of the auction to balance their team for the next season. After the auction, Sachin Tanwar expressed his happiness and said that he was surprised to get such a big bid from Tamil Thalaivas. Sachin Tanwar said that I thought I would get Rs 1.70-1.80 crore. I was nervous before the auction and this night will always be memorable for me. Earlier in the auction, deals were made in lakhs, now deals are being made in crores which is a big thing for the sport and the youth. Kabaddi has reached this level.
