Before the T20 World Cup final between South Africa and Barbados, former Indian batter Navjot Singh Sidhu made fun of star bowler Arshdeep Singh. With 15 wickets under his belt, Arshdeep leads India in wicket-taking in the competition. He will get an opportunity to take the lead against the Proteas in the T20 World Cup summit match on Saturday. Arshdeep has to take three wickets to surpass Fazalhaq Farooqi (17) of Afghanistan in the standings of the competition. Sidhu, however, made fun of Arshdeep's batting abilities before the championship match.
Ahead of the T20 World Cup Final, Navjot Singh Sidhu makes fun of an Indian star, saying, 'Confidence 100, Skill 0'. ObserveNavjot Singh Sidhu is a member of the T20 World Cup's Hindi commentary crew.
On Instagram, Sidhu posted a video with the caption, '100% confidence, 0% skills.'
There was no animosity meant against Arshdeep in the message published by Sidhu, as he has been complimenting the player for his achievements with the ball throughout the competition.
After failing to take a wicket in the semi-final match against England, Arshdeep will try to pick up more wickets in the crucial final.
Arshdeep gave pace leader Bumrah a lot of credit for his accomplishments.
'I guess a lot of credit goes to Jassi bhai (Jasprit Bumrah) because he puts a lot of pressure on the batters - he gives, what, three or four runs in an over - so batters are coming hard against me, and I just have to try and bowl my best ball and there are a lot of chances of getting wickets there,' Arshdeep stated.
'On the other hand, they take greater chances against me when they realise the runs are not coming and the asking rate is rising. There's always a possibility to pick up a wicket there. Thus, Jassi bhai deserves a lot of credit for my wickets,' he continued.
