Mithun Manhas new BCCI president: The BCCI has a new president. Mithun Manhas, a former cricketer with the Jammu Cricket Association, was elected president at the BCCI's Annual General Meeting (AGM) today. He will replace Roger Binny.

Mithun Manhas has been appointed the new president of the BCCI. Meanwhile, Rajeev Shukla will continue as vice-president. Raghuram Bhat, the current president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and former Indian spinner, will be the treasurer. His term as KSCA president ends on September 30. Devjit Saikia will continue as secretary, while Prabhtej Bhatia has been appointed joint secretary.

The names of the new BCCI office bearers were finalized at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at BCCI headquarters. Mithun Manhas, former captain of Delhi's domestic cricket team, was appointed the new BCCI President.

Born in Jammu and Kashmir, Mithun played the most cricket matches for Delhi. He was a middle-order batsman and captained Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. Manhas played 157 first-class matches and scored 9,700 runs. He also played for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Pune Warriors, and CSK in the IPL. He will be the first person from Jammu and Kashmir to become BCCI President.

  • Mithun Manhas is a right-handed batsman who bowls arm-spin and also takes wickets when needed.
  • He made his first-class debut in the 1997-98 season.
  • He played 157 first-class matches and scored 9714 runs, including 27 centuries and 49 half-centuries.
  • He played 130 List A matches and 91 T20 matches.
  • Manhas captained the Delhi team in Indian domestic cricket.
  • He led Delhi to the Ranji Trophy title in the 2007-08 season, scoring 921 runs.
  • He never played for the senior Indian national team due to intense competition for a place in the middle order.
  • Greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly got the opportunity.
  • In the IPL, Mithun played for Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors India and CSK.
