Maharashtra Honours Mandhana, Jemimah & Radha for World Cup Win

The Maharashtra government has honored World Cup-winning Indian cricketers Smriti Mandhana, Radha Yadav, and Jemimah Rodrigues for their outstanding contributions to India’s triumph in the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup. The felicitation ceremony took place in Mumbai, where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented the players with awards and cash prizes.

Each Player Receives ₹2.5 Crore

During the ceremony, CM Devendra Fadnavis presented cheques of ₹2.5 crore each to Smriti Mandhana, Radha Yadav, and Jemimah Rodrigues. All three players hail from Mumbai, and their remarkable performances were pivotal in helping India clinch the World Cup title.

In addition to the players, Head Coach Amol Muzumdar was also felicitated by the Maharashtra government and received a ₹25 lakh cash reward for his guidance and leadership throughout the tournament.

Jemimah Rodrigues’ Historic Knock in the Semifinal

Jemimah Rodrigues was one of the standout performers of the tournament. In the semifinal against Australia, she played a historic unbeaten innings of 127 runs, leading India to a five-wicket victory while chasing 339 runs. Her innings is being hailed as one of the greatest in Women’s World Cup history. Across seven innings, Jemimah scored a total of 292 runs, cementing her place among India’s most dependable batters.

Smriti Mandhana’s Consistent Brilliance

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana continued her fine form throughout the tournament. She played a crucial 45-run knock in the final, along with two half-centuries and one century in the competition. Her standout performance came against New Zealand, where she scored a majestic 109 runs, followed by 88 against England and 80 against Australia. In total, Mandhana amassed 434 runs in nine matches, making her one of the top scorers of the World Cup.
