Ishan Kishan disregarded BCCI secretary Jay Shah's and India head coach Rahul Dravid's directives on participating in the Ranji Trophy. After being sidelined since the start of the year, Kishan made the decision not to participate in Jharkhand's last Group A match against Rajasthan at Jamshedpur's Keenan Stadium on Friday. This occurred precisely three days after Jay Shah asked the players under central contract to be available for domestic red-ball cricket, sending a subtle but powerful message in the process.
Shah clearly stated the BCCI's position without naming any individuals. 'They have been informed on the phone already and I'm going to write letters as well that if your chairman of selectors, your coach and your captain are asking for it then you will have to play red-ball cricket,' Shah was quoted as saying.
Additionally, rumours have it that the BCCI intends to mandate participation in the Ranji Trophy for players to be qualified for the IPL.
Before the Test series against South Africa, Ishan Kishan, who had allegedly been asking for breaks since the ODI World Cup last year, received permission from the team management. According to reports, captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid were unhappy with how Kishan's vacation was scheduled.

When the selectors announced that KL Rahul would not be wearing the gloves for the Test series against England, they sent a strong message to Kishan. Dravid, the head coach, went on to say that Kishan must play 'some cricket' to be picked.
But the left-hander hasn't been impacted at all. Kumar Kushagra continued to maintain wickets for Jharkhand while Kishan was away.
In their final round encounter, Jharkhand, who have only managed one victory and ten points from six games thus far, takes on Rajasthan at home. The individuals who count in the Indian cricket establishment are not fond of Kishan's behaviour of missing match after match since returning halfway through the national team's South Africa trip, citing 'travel fatigue'.
Deepak Chahar and Shreyas Iyer also skipped the Ranji TrophyKishan is hardly the only athlete neglecting the top domestic competition. In addition, Deepak Chahar and Shreyas Iyer are not participating in the current final round of matches, which began at various locations. However, Iyer was experiencing problems with his groin and lower back.
It was particularly instructed to Kishan, Chahar, and Iyer that they will represent their respective state teams in first-class cricket.
Particularly after it was discovered that, while his stateside was languishing near the bottom of the group A table in Ranji, he was practising in Baroda with his new Mumbai Indians captain, Hardik Pandya.
