Ravindra Jadeja will return to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the IPL 2026 tournament, after he and England's Sam Curran were traded to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in exchange for Sanju Samson in a blockbuster deal ahead of the mini-auction.
Ravindra Jadeja began his IPL career with the Rajasthan Royals in 2008, where he won the tournament under Shane Warne's captaincy. He then joined the Kochi Tuskers franchise for one season and then the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2012. Barring a two-season ban in 2016 and 2017, he will remain with the franchise until 2025.
Ravindra Jadeja said in a statement from the franchise: Rajasthan Royals gave me my first platform and my first taste of victory. It feels great to be back – this isn't just a team for me, it's my home. Rajasthan Royals is where I won my first IPL title, and I hope to win many more with our current team.

RR head coach Kumar Sangakkara said: Ravindra Jadeja's return to Rajasthan Royals is extremely special for all of us. He understands the franchise and fans well, having been part of Rajasthan Royals' IPL-winning campaigns. Over the past few years, he has emerged as a player who can make an impact in every aspect of the game. His experience, patience, and competitiveness will be a huge contributor to our team. Sam brings a different, but equally important, dimension.
He is fearless and adaptable, and performs well under pressure with both bat and ball. Jadeja and Sam together provide us with the balance, leadership, and match-winning depth we need for the future.
