IPL 2025 Auction: The retention policy for IPL 2025 can be released soon by BCCI. Along with the teams, the fans are also waiting for it.
The next season of IPL will be played from April, but talks about it have already started. The auction of IPL 2025 is near. But before that fans are curious about how many players the teams can retain. BCCI can make a final announcement regarding this soon.
Nothing has been said by the BCCI yet regarding the retention policy of IPL 2025. The BCCI had called all the IPL team owners for a meeting, in which everyone was asked for their opinion. But the final decision could not be taken. The reason for this was that the opinions of the teams were different. After listening and understanding everyone's views, the BCCI had said that the decision would be announced later. Now it is believed that the retention policy will be released soon. According to the information received so far, it is believed that IPL teams can retain a maximum of four players. Also, this time there is a possibility of the return of RTM i.e. Right to Match Card.
Mega auction is going to happen for the first time after IPL. Last time when mega auction was held, only four players were allowed to be retained in the team. However, some figures in this petition have said that the players being talked about have been ready for three years, after which they have been kept in the mega auction. It is possible that ARTM may be brought back once again as a solution to this. Under RTM, the player who has been dropped by the team can be brought back through auction. But the condition is that the team which has bought the player at the previous price will bring him back to its team.
BCCI implemented this rule for the first time in the year 2014, but later it could not continue for long. This time BCCI can allow retention of four players, which will include players from India and abroad. BCCI can soon decide how many Indian and how many foreign players will be there in it. Along with the fans, the teams are also waiting for the retention policy, so that they can decide which players they want to retain with them. It is expected that soon the cards of this whole matter will be revealed and the matter will move forward.
