Nepal's court has sentenced star cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane to eight years of imprisonment in a rape case. The bench of Shishir Raj Dhakal, after hearing on Wednesday, January 10, pronounced the verdict of 8 years imprisonment along with compensation and fine. This has been confirmed by court officer Ramu Sharma.
It is noteworthy that during the hearing held recently, Sandeep Lamichhane was found guilty by Nepal Court in the case of raping a minor. Sandeep has already been arrested in this case. The court had also sent him to pre-trial custody. However, Sandeep was released with a bail amount of Rs 20 lakh. Sandeep, who has played in Big Bash League and IPL, was also banned by the court from participating in foreign leagues.
Sandeep Lamichhane has played more than 100 international matches for Nepal at the age of just 23. Sandeep, who started his international career in 2018, has taken 112 wickets in the total 51 ODI matches played so far. At the same time, in T-20 International, this spin bowler has taken 98 wickets in 52 matches.
