David Warner is ready to play in the Champions Trophy

Despite announcing his retirement from international cricket, Australia's star batsman David Warner has expressed his desire to play in the Champions Trophy next year. Warner's international career ended in January after India were ruled out of the ODI and T20 World Cups after winning the ODI World Cup.

Warner said that he will be available for the Champions Trophy right now. In an Instagram post, he has expressed his desire to play in the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan in February and March next year. Warner wrote, I will continue to play franchise cricket and if selected, I am ready to play in the Champions Trophy as well.

While retiring from ODIs, he had also said that if needed in the Champions Trophy, I will be available. Warner has been a part of the Australian team that won the World Cup 3 times, including the 2015 and 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2021 T20 World Cup.

David Warner made his Test debut against New Zealand in Brisbane in 2011. He has scored 8786 runs in 112 Test matches at an average of 44.59. This includes 26 centuries and 37 half-centuries.

Warner started his ODI career in 2009 against South Africa in Hobart. He played his last ODI match on 19 November in the ODI World Cup final against India in Ahmedabad. So far he has scored 6932 runs in 161 ODIs at an average of 45.30. In this, he has scored 22 centuries and 33 half-centuries.

David Warner was also the Player of the Tournament in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Warner is the highest run-scorer among Australian players in T20 Internationals. He has scored 3277 runs in 110 T20 International matches.
