Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to join Juventus. The left-back is keen to play regularly and sees a move to Italy as the ideal move in his career.
According to a report from Tuttosport via Football Italia, Chilwell is in talks with Juventus about a move in January. The Serie A giants are keen to take the Englishman on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season.
The report claims that the Blues are willing to waive the loan fee provided Juve pays the left-back's wages. Chilwell is keen on a move to Turin and is willing to take a pay cut for more playing time. Chelsea have decided to make Marc Cucurella their first choice left-back this season, with Renato Veiga as the second option. New boss Enzo Maresca has also decided to try Reece James and Malo Gusto in the left-back position to replace Chilwell. The former Leicester City star was linked with several Premier League clubs in the summer, but the move did not come to fruition.
Enzo Maresca has opened up about his plans at Chelsea and urged Ben Chilwell to leave. He admitted the left-back will struggle for minutes at Stamford Bridge as he is not part of his main squad for this season.
'Chile is with us but he hasn't been training for the last few days because he's been sick. The reason he didn't play against Inter was that, with Chile it's very clear, even though I like his game, the problem is that he's having a bit of trouble finding the right position.'Ben Chilwell has played just 45 minutes this season - in the second half against Barrow in the League Cup. He was on the bench in one other match - the fourth round defeat to Newcastle United, but did not take the field. Chilwell has not been in the match day squad for any other game this season.
