India West Indies Test series 2025 squad: BCCI has announced Team India for the Test series against West Indies on October 2.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Team India for the two-match Test series against the West Indies, starting October 2nd. The BCCI has selected 15 players for this series. These include young players like N. Jagadeesan, Sai Sudarshan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Devdutt Padikkal. However, five star players have been omitted from this squad.
Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has also not been selected for the two-match Test series against the West Indies. He is now fully fit, yet the selectors did not select him for the Test series against the West Indies.
Karun Nair, who returned to the Test team after nearly 10 years, has been dropped from Team India after just one series. Karun Nair, who was part of Team India's squad for the England Test series, has not been selected for the Test series against the West Indies.
Shreyas Iyer, who captained India A against Australia A, did not play in the second Test. It was expected that Iyer would return to the Test team, but a sudden injury prevented his return. It is believed that Iyer was not selected due to his lack of full fitness.
Sarfaraz Khan, a consistent run-scorer in domestic cricket, has not been selected for the home Test series against the West Indies. He has been scoring runs in every domestic tournament, even scoring centuries. Yet, Sarfaraz Khan has not been selected for the Test team.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will not play in the Test series against the West Indies. He has not been included in the squad due to fitness issues. Pant is currently recovering from an injury. In his absence, N. Jagadeesan has been included in the squad as the reserve wicketkeeper.
