Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz took three wickets in one over as Pakistan made a brilliant comeback and defeated West Indies by 14 runs in the first T20 International cricket match. After being invited to bat first, Pakistan scored 178 runs for six wickets, thanks to Sam Ayub's 57 runs off 38 balls, who was adjudged the best player of the match. In reply, the West Indies team could only score 164 runs for seven wickets despite a good start. The second and third T20 matches between these two teams will be played in Lauderhill on Saturday and Sunday.
Karun Nair hit his first half-century of the series and played a key role in taking India to 206/6 at stumps and handling the innings in this challenging phase. Nair is still unbeaten on 52, along with Washington Sundar, who played a brilliant innings by scoring 19* off 45 balls.

After Smuts got out, the incoming batsmen could not get going and Van Wyk played a brilliant innings of 76 runs.
England fast bowler Chris Woakes is suspected to have dislocated his shoulder during the fifth Test against India at the Oval, dealing a major blow to the home team's hopes of winning the series.
